About Dana
A warm hello and welcome to my site! I'm delighted you're visiting and hope you enjoy browsing and finding inspiration!
To give you an idea of what and who you are dealing with here, I would like to introduce myself and my art a little:
Who am I
My name is Dana, I'm 33 years old, and I come from beautiful Northern Hesse, Germany. I've been involved with art and creativity in various forms my entire life and studied art history and philosophy at the Kassel Art Academy for two years. A few years ago, I began to focus intensively on abstract painting and started my own business part-time in 2025. My dream is to be able to make a living entirely from my art!
What I like - what I don't like
I enjoy honest conversations, deep reflection, and plenty of time for myself. I'm an introvert, and I find I recharge most when I can withdraw from everything and do what I want in peace. Besides my art, this includes writing (which I've been practicing regularly since my early teens), exercising, listening to music, spending time in nature, and eating good food.
I don't like narrow-minded and dishonest people, intolerance, arrogance and being kept waiting.
What has shaped me
It took me half my life to realize who I am, what I want, and how I want to live my life. Those many years of uncertainty and doubt left their mark, but ultimately enabled me to develop a deep and comprehensive outlook on life and to increasingly recognize what matters to me. I’m convinced that we grow the most through crises and that we don’t truly stand on our own two feet until we’ve gone through processes of deep self-reflection, pain, and unreserved honesty with ourselves and those around us. I’ve always questioned life and rediscovered my love for abstract thoughts while studying philosophy. In my art and on my Instagram channel, there are always thought-provoking ideas and personal questions to discover.
What do I paint
After I began abstract painting out of curiosity, for fun, and to rediscover my creativity, I’ve increasingly developed a unique artistic language that is characteristic of my work and allows me to immerse myself ever more deeply in my art. I will always love giving my creativity free rein and working with a wide variety of techniques, formats, and materials even beyond the canvas, but over the past few years I have already developed a distinctive visual language and my own mixed-media style.
So I’d be delighted if you’d like to be part of my journey, are looking for exciting insights and inspiration, and might just find your very own one-of-a-kind piece here!
