Addiction is something that probably every one of us has encountered at some point. Be it an affected family member, the lack of admission from a good friend, stories from acquaintances, or generally the best possible repression.
How do you deal with it when you're personally affected? How do you view the situation from the outside, and how does it affect your self-image?
I've personally been confronted with the topic of addiction and dependence in every way in my life so far, and so far I've addressed it very little in my art. This is the first work.
The rough colors, ranging from light to dark, that come together in a circle symbolize the feelings associated with the topic. From positive to neutral to melancholy and stressful. What influences and thoughts counteract these? The dots impressively demonstrate how difficult it is to break the patterns of addiction. The influences leave their mark, but they fail to truly change the dependency. It becomes more intense.
