Coffee Break (-down)

How we try to face everyday adversities with inconspicuous contradictions and often overlook the fact that we harm ourselves in the long run.
This contradiction, by combining coffee as a stimulant and, at the same time, a burnt-out worker, is the subject of my work "Coffee Break (-down)".

The unconventional technique of painting the picture exclusively with coffee reinforces the symbolism and depiction of the motif. The man is literally made entirely of coffee, trying to sustain himself with the stimulant, yet is on the verge of being unable to delay his collapse any longer. Hold on. Stay awake. Carry on.
